Cristiano Ronaldo caused a lot of excitement in the summer. He didn’t want to keep playing for Manchester United, so he looked for a club that would guarantee him a Champions League place. In the end, no team wanted to hire him, so he stayed at Old Trafford for another season.
However, the athlete’s problems were only just beginning. Recently hired manager Erik ten Hague decided to place the 37-year-old on the bench, who has played just once in the Premier League in the starting line-up. There is increasing talk of a possible departure as early as the January transfer window.
At the press conference ahead of the Europa League match, the Dutchman raised the subject of his charges. He once again admitted that he only kept him off the pitch in the Manchester derby out of respect for his career. He also claimed that Ronaldo was feeling good at Old Trafod.
