PSG in second place in Group H, Juventus in Europa League

Juventus entered the clash with PSG aware that they would not be able to compete in the elite competition in the spring. Massimiliano Allegri’s charges, however, still had a chance for third place in the group that would have been rewarded with a chance to play in the Europa League. The Ligue 1 giant, on the other hand, wanted to win the competition in Group H.

In the first passages of the competition, the hosts seemed to be more active. Nevertheless, the first goal was scored by the Parisians. Kylian Mbappe played the starring role in the 13th minute, taking advantage of a pass from Lionel Messi.

After the loss of the goal, however, the Bianconeri did not break down and presented a game with heart and tremendous tenacity, the likes of which Juve fans have not yet seen from their pupils this season. The result was a goal for 1:1 in the 39th minute by Leonardo Bonucci. The Italian turned a header pass from Juan Cuadrado into a goal.

In the second part of the game, the Turin players were no longer as solid as before the break. They lost the competition with the Parisians related to the shots they took. This was followed by PSG’s 2:1 score in the 69th minute by Nuno Mendes.

Meanwhile, Federico Chiesa appeared on the pitch in the 74th minute, which was greeted by an ovation from the more than 40,000 spectators. The European champion returned to the game after a serious injury. However, he did not change the face of the competition. In the end, the Old Lady lost (1:2), but will still play in the Europa League in the spring, as Benfica beat Maccabi Haifa high (4:1).
