Over the past week, the English Premier League recorded a record 103 cases of COVID-19 infection among players and clubs’ staff. During the week before it, the EPL recorded 90 positive tests, which at that time was a record figure since May 2020. Interestingly, those numbers didn’t become the reason to postpone the tournament. At an emergency meeting, the clubs decided to continue the championship during the Christmas holidays.
