Inter wants to earn double on Dumfries
Chelsea has been working on numerous reinforcements over the summer. Some of the operations were finalized, some fell through completely, but several fiascos The Blues intend to return to in the future. The attempt to bring in Denzel Dumfries falls into the latter category.
In London, they have put great faith in Reece James, but it has been recognized that he needs a rival to fight for a place in the starting lineup. The English made an offer for the Dutch representative, but were met with a firm refusal.
Corriere dello Sport reports, however, that Todd Boehly’s club may return for the 26-year-old as early as this coming winter, with the proviso that the player will still spend the spring round at Milan. Inter is aware that the right defender is one of the players on whom the team can earn a lot of money. He is in good form, has shown himself on the international stage and has a long contract. The Nerazzurri expect a minimum of €25 million for him. That’s almost double what they paid for him when he arrived in Italy from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2021.
Dumfries has already appeared in nine games this season. He has recorded two goals and an assist in them.
