According to the sources, Manchester United have agreed on a six-month contract with German specialist Ralf Rangnick. The German will be a temporary head coach till the end of the season, after which he will take the position of club consultant.
To successfully complete the deal, it is necessary to obtain Lokomotiv’s consent to terminate the contract with Rangnick, where he is the head of sports and development. In the next match against Chelsea, which will take place on November 28, Michael Carrick will lead the Mancunian team. Even if negotiations with Lokomotiv are promptly completed, Rangnick will not have time to obtain a work permit in the UK.
The German specialist is primarily known for working with RB Leipzig, Hoffenheim, Stuttgart and other German clubs. Rangnick has never trained outside of his home country.
Last week, Manchester United fired Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has led the team since 2018. The Red Devils are ranked eighth in the English Premier League at the moment.
