Atletico defeated Porto at Dragau to qualify for the Champions League playoffs
Yesterday, Atletico Madrid became one more team to secure the UCL’s round of 16. The Mattresses defeated Porto in the away match to book second place in their group.
Antoine Griezmann was first to score in the match, with Angel Correa and Rodrigo De Paul to double and triple the advantage. The hosts escaped a devastating defeat thanks to a penalty goal from Sergio Oliveira. The tension of the match was so huge that both teams had to end the game with ten men. Firstly, Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco was sent off for Atlético in the middle of the second half, while Wendell repeated the same for Porto a bit later.

Atletico grabbed seven points after six rounds and finished second in Group B. Diego Simeone’s team advanced to the 1/8 finals of the Champions League after Liverpool beat Milan at San Siro.
